Sophie’s Light, A New Musical

Written as a tribute to Sandusky’s bicentennial and bubbling with the energy of the 1920s, SOPHIE’S LIGHT celebrates the opening of the Sandusky State Theatre, ninety years ago on October 12, 1928. The “Million Dollar Theatre” was one of the first in the area to feature Vaudevillians and became the jewel of the bustling waterfront city.

SOPHIE’S LIGHT weaves a seamless story of fact and fiction, as the drama behind the curtain is enough to make hearts connect, and ships collide when performers and townspeople are unsuspecting of the Ghost who leads the way.

Originally performed at the historic Sandusky State Theater, SOPHIE’S LIGHT premiered in Sandusky, OH on August 24th and 25th, 2018. It was free to the general public based on generous sponsorships. Below you will find a few quotes from those who attended, in addition to a trailer.
